1985 The founder Fritz Schellnast became the first showman business in Austria to operate and rent out bouncy castles throughout Austria. This successful family business has set standards for bouncy castles and giant slides throughout its history.

1987 From 1987 onwards, the company's own operation of the devices at the largest trade fairs in Austria also led to their sale due to the lively interest. The first manufacturers and suppliers at that time were the English companies Pleasure & Leisure and BounceAbouts. Our larger customers initially included Raiffeisen banks and savings banks, whose products were serviced by us and whose event organization we took over back then.

1994 BounceAbouts implemented a groundbreaking idea that gave the entire industry a boost and significantly accelerated the triumph of inflatable play equipment worldwide. It was the innovation of the first giant inflatable slide with a height of 9 m, a floor area of ​​12 x 8 m and a weight of 540 kg, which became known worldwide as "Aladin". Fritz Schellnast (then “Schellnast Adventure Play Equipment”) presented this innovation for the first time on the European continent at the fair in Munich in 1994 and from then on sold it throughout Europe with great success. By operating the bouncy castles and slides ourselves, we were able to make significant contributions to the further development of the products. These experiences and innovations led to the establishment of our own service workshop, which today operates both locally and mobile through our service team.

2000 Our own production was set up and sales were expanded significantly. The company “Schellnast Adventure Play Equipment” was renamed “HAPPY FUN” and was founded as a GmbH in 2007. Starting from Austria and Germany, we were able to expand our sales area to Italy, Switzerland, France as well as Eastern and Northern Europe and also gain great reputation with our innovative inflatable play equipment in the Arab world, including the Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Egypt and Sudan.

2007 We moved our main production facility to Romania and developed further innovations after the Gigant slides, which weighed up to 800 kg: the “Schwammerl”, 13 m high and weighing 900 kg, a revolving stage and completely new action play equipment such as the jasmine activity center, the dolphin center, the jungle center or the volcanoes. We also expanded the well-known mouth slides into complete game centers with exciting obstacles.

2016 Jonathan Schellnast and Christoph Schellnast took over the shares Happy Fun GmbH. Jonathan became managing director and Christoph took on the role of head of creative design. Since then, the company has increasingly specialized in inflatable advertising solutions. Happy Fun focuses on developing and expanding a range of customizable promotional products, including promotional bouncy castles, promotional sheets, product replicas and much more. Investments were also made in the digitalization and modernization of operational and production processes.
